Backrooms is an upcoming American sci-fi horror film directed by Kane Parsons in his feature directorial debut. Produced by A24 alongside Atomic Monster, Chernin Entertainment, and 21 Laps Entertainment, the movie expands upon the viral creepypasta phenomenon and Parsons’ acclaimed short film series originally published on YouTube. The narrative dives deep into the eerie phenomenon of noclipping out of reality into a vast, surreal labyrinth of endless, carpeted office rooms illuminated by buzzing fluorescent lighting.

The story centers on a young filmmaker who unexpectedly clips into the uncanny dimension known as the Backrooms. As he navigates through infinite, monochromatic halls, he discovers disturbing scientific experiments, mysterious entities, and the decaying remnants of former lost souls. To survive, he must decipher the cryptic rules governing this alternate reality while being relentlessly hunted by terrifying otherworldly entities lurking beyond the yellow walls.

With production backed by horror powerhouses James Wan and Shawn Levy, the feature-length adaptation promises to elevate liminal space horror to new heights.
