Bambukat

Set in 1960s rural Punjab, Bambukat follows the life of Channan Singh, a simple and resourceful young man from a modest background who possesses a deep passion for engines and machinery. Channan marries Pakko, a warm-hearted woman, and lives a content life until family dynamics shift dramatically with the arrival of a new family member.

When Pakko’s sister marries Resham Singh, an affluent man who rides a modern motorcycle—referred to locally as a ‘Bambukat’—Resham becomes the center of attention and admiration within the extended family. Feeling belittled by the contrast in social status and respect, Channan decides to regain his self-esteem by acquiring his own motorcycle, setting off a hilarious and emotional journey of ingenuity, perseverance, and pride.
