Doctor Sleep

Doctor Sleep follows the adult Dan Torrance, who remains deeply traumatized by the sinister events that occurred during his childhood at the Overlook Hotel. Struggling with alcoholism and the overwhelming burden of his psychic abilities, known as the ‘shining,’ Dan attempts to find peace by settling in a small New Hampshire town. He secures a job at a hospice, where he uses his remaining powers to comfort dying patients, earning him the moniker ‘Doctor Sleep.’ However, his fragile peace is shattered when he establishes a psychic connection with Abra Stone, a teenager possessing an exceptionally powerful shine.

Abra reveals that she is being hunted by the True Knot, a cult of quasi-immortal beings led by the ruthless Rose the Hat. The cult feeds on the ‘steam’ produced by children with the shine, torturing them to death to prolong their own lives. Recognizing the immense danger Abra faces, Dan is forced to confront his past and embrace his powers once again. Together, Dan and Abra must form an alliance to battle Rose and her followers, leading them back to the very place Dan has spent his entire life trying to forget: the decaying Overlook Hotel.
