F1 is an upcoming American sports action drama film directed by Joseph Kosinski and written by Ehren Kruger. The film stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a veteran Formula One driver from the 1990s who suffered a devastating crash, forcing him to retire from the sport and fade into obscurity. Decades later, Hayes is coaxed out of retirement by a wealthy team owner and close friend to mentor Joshua Pearce, a brilliant but struggling young rookie driver for the fictional APXGP team.

Filmed in collaboration with the real-life Formula One community, including actual teams, drivers, and the FIA, the production utilized custom-built Formula Two cars modified to look like F1 cars.
