Set in the foggy hill town of Kalimpong, Jaane Jaan centers on Maya D’Souza, a resilient single mother running a small cafeteria who desires a quiet life with her young daughter. Her hard-earned peace is shattered when her abusive estranged husband, Ajit, tracks her down and attempts extortion and physical assault. In a desperate act of self-defense, Maya and her daughter end up killing Ajit during the violent confrontation.

Hearing the struggle from next door, Naren Vyas, a brilliant yet reclusive high school mathematics teacher who harbors a quiet affection for Maya, intervenes. Using his mathematical precision and meticulous planning, Naren devises an elaborate scheme to dispose of the body and construct an airtight alibi for Maya. Shortly after, Inspector Karan Anand, an astute cop from Mumbai and an old college friend of Naren, arrives in Kalimpong to investigate Ajit’s disappearance.

As Karan zeros in on Maya as his primary suspect, an intense intellectual duel unfolds between the sharp detective and the mathematical genius. Naren stays steps ahead, predicting Karan’s investigative tactics to protect Maya at all costs. The film culminates in a suspenseful resolution that explores the boundaries of devotion, logic, and self-sacrifice.
