Noryang: Deadly Sea

Noryang: Deadly Sea is the cinematic finale to director Kim Han-min’s epic trilogy commemorating the legendary Korean naval commander Admiral Yi Sun-sin, following the blockbuster successes of The Admiral: Roaring Currents and Hansan: Rising Dragon. Set in the winter of 1598, the film chronicles the historic Battle of Noryang—the final major naval engagement of the seven-year Imjin War. Following the death of warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the invading Japanese forces order a full retreat from the Korean peninsula, prompting Admiral Yi Sun-sin to lead a decisive coalition offensive to ensure the enemy cannot retreat unpunished.
