STORYLINE
Pavane is an evocative Korean romantic drama directed by Lee Jong-pil, adapted from Park Min-gyu’s acclaimed novel ‘Pavane for a Dead Princess’. Set against the nostalgic backdrop of the late 1990s, the story centers on Mi-jeong, a young woman who leads a solitary and withdrawn life due to her self-perceived somber appearance and low self-esteem while working in the parking section of a bustling department store.
Her quiet world transforms when she meets Yo-han, a charismatic store employee with an eclectic taste in music, and Eun-ho, a gentle youth who notices her true inner beauty. Together, the trio forms an intense and transformative bond, helping each other confront deep emotional insecurities, loneliness, and the superficial expectations imposed by society.
Starring Go Ah-sung, Byun Yo-han, and Moon Sang-min, Pavane delivers a tender exploration of unfulfilled desires, youth, and authentic human connection. The film captures the melancholic elegance of classical music while telling an enduring tale of love and self-acceptance.
