French (Scott Adkins) is a skilled British martial artist struggling to keep his Los Angeles martial arts dojo afloat. Facing impending eviction and mounting debts, he takes a job working for Tommy, a notorious local mob boss who operates under the guise of a scrap metal dealer. To settle his financial obligations, French agrees to work as a muscle-for-hire debt collector, tracking down individuals who owe money to Tommy’s syndicate.

French is paired with Sue (Louis Mandylor), a street-smart, booze-hound former martial artist and veteran debt collector who teaches him the harsh realities of the trade. As the mismatched duo travels across Los Angeles shaking down various deadbeats, French relies on his martial arts prowess while struggling with the moral implications of his brutal new profession.
