Bogotá: City of the Lost

Set in the turbulent 1990s, ‘Bogotá: City of the Lost’ follows the gripping journey of Guk-hee, a young South Korean immigrant who arrives in Bogotá, Colombia, with his family. Completely penniless and struggling to survive in a foreign land with no prospects, Guk-hee starts from the absolute bottom, taking on menial jobs in the city’s bustling and dangerous local markets.

As he adapts to his harsh new reality, Guk-hee begins to navigate the treacherous waters of Bogotá’s underground black market. Through sheer determination, sharp wit, and increasingly ruthless decisions, he rises through the ranks of the local commercial scene, eventually dominating the city’s informal economy while facing intense opposition from rival factions and local authorities.

Directed by Kim Seong-je, this intense crime drama stars Song Joong-ki, Lee Hee-jun, and Kwon Hae-hyo. The film offers a raw, realistic look at the immigrant experience, the desperate fight for survival, and the heavy moral cost of achieving power in a lawless environment.
