Haddi (2023) – Story, Cast, Crime & Ending

Haddi is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language noir crime drama directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a powerful central role alongside Anurag Kashyap as a ruthless politician. Set against the gritty backdrop of Delhi and the National Capital Region, the story follows Haddi, a transgender woman who moves from Allahabad to join a local gang of trans individuals operating under a massive land-grabbing criminal empire run by Pramod Ahlawat (Anurag Kashyap).

As Haddi rapidly climbs the ranks of the criminal underworld through cunning strategies and brutal force, a darker personal motive comes to light. Haddi’s actions are fueled by a burning desire for retribution against Ahlawat and his syndicate, who systematically destroyed her surrogate trans family led by Revathi Amma (Ila Arun) and murdered her partner Irfan (Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub). The narrative masterfully weaves present-day criminal operations with tragic flashbacks that expose the origins of her quest.

The film delves deeply into themes of gender identity, systemic marginalization, political corruption, and violent revenge within the NCR underworld. Supported by intense performances from Siddiqui and Kashyap, Haddi delivers a relentless tale of justice exacted from the fringes of society, culminating in a explosive final showdown that dismantles the corrupt political machine built on the exploitation of marginalized communities.
