Beast (2022) is an Indian Tamil-language action thriller written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The film stars Thalapathy Vijay as Veera Raghavan, a former RAW agent suffering from PTSD after a tragic mission. Seeking a peaceful life, Veera’s path crosses with danger when a prominent shopping mall in Chennai is hijacked by a ruthless terrorist group demanding the release of their captured leader, Umar Farooq. Veera, who happens to be inside the mall with his partner Preethi, decides to take matters into his own hands.

Utilizing his elite military training, stealth tactics, and combat expertise, Veera begins a high-stakes rescue mission from within the besieged building. The narrative follows his tactical survival strategy as he systematically neutralizes the hijackers, protects innocent hostages, and outmaneuvers both the terrorists and bureaucratic obstacles. The film combines Nelson’s signature dark comedy elements with massive action set-pieces, backed by a sensational musical score by Anirudh Ravichander.
