Jaime Reyes, a recent college graduate, returns home to Palmera City filled with aspirations for his future, only to discover that his family is facing severe financial instability and potential eviction. While seeking employment to assist his family, Jaime lands a chance encounter with Jenny Kord, who secretly hands him an ancient alien artifact called the Scarab hidden inside a fast-food box, warning him not to open it under any circumstances.

Unintentionally activated in front of his family, the Scarab—a sentient alien biotechnology named Khaji-Da—latches onto Jaime’s spine, bonding with him on a cellular level. The symbiosis grants Jaime a powerful, high-tech exoskeleton capable of generating extraordinary weapons, energy shields, and flight. As he grapples with these incredible new powers, Jaime is thrust into the role of the superhero Blue Beetle.

When the ruthless CEO of Kord Industries, Victoria Kord, sends her heavily cybernetic enforcer Ignacio Carapax to retrieve the Scarab at all costs, Jaime’s family becomes directly targeted. To save his loved ones and prevent Victoria from mass-producing militarized OMAC suits, Jaime must rely on his family’s unwavering support and master the Scarab’s abilities to defeat the formidable threat.
