Bullet Train Explosion

Bullet Train Explosion (originally released as Shinkansen Daibakuha or The Bullet Train) is a seminal 1975 Japanese disaster thriller directed by Junya Satō. The high-concept plot centers on Hikari 109, a cutting-edge Shinkansen bullet train carrying over a thousand passengers from Tokyo to Hakata. The journey turns into a nightmare when a desperate bomber, Tetsuo Okita, reveals that he has planted a sophisticated bomb on board. The device is wired to detonate automatically if the train’s speed drops below 80 kilometers per hour, putting the lives of everyone on board in extreme jeopardy.
