Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) – Story, Cast & Ending Explained

Six years after the events of Deadpool 2, Wade Wilson is living a quiet life as a used-car salesman, having retired his mercenary persona following a string of personal rejections. His peaceful existence is abruptly shattered when agents of the Time Variance Authority (TVA), led by the ruthless bureaucrat Mr. Paradox, yank him from his reality. Paradox informs Wade that his universe (Earth-10005) is slowly deteriorating due to the death of its ‘anchor being,’ Logan. Offered a chance to join the sacred Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline while letting his home reality die, Wade steals Paradox’s Tempad to find a replacement Logan across the multiverse.

Wade eventually tracks down a heavily traumatized, alcoholic variant of Wolverine who failed his own X-Men team. To escape and prevent Paradox from deploying a temporal destruction device called the Time Ripper, Deadpool and Wolverine must forge an uneasy alliance with a band of forgotten superhero variants, including Blade, Elektra, Gambit, and X-23.

In a climax filled with high-octane R-rated action, fourth-wall-breaking satire, and surprising emotional depth, Wade and Logan unite to overcome Cassandra Nova’s telepathic hold and physically destroy the Time Ripper. By sacrificing themselves together to complete the circuit, they stabilize Wade’s timeline, saving his loved ones. The film ends with Logan choosing to remain on Earth-10005, officially integrating into Wade’s eccentric family circle and setting up a monumental shift for the Marvel multiverse.
