Journey 2: The Mysterious Island

Sean Anderson receives an encrypted distress call from a remote region in the Pacific Ocean where no island should exist. Believing the signal was sent by his long-lost grandfather Alexander, Sean reluctantly pairs up with his stepfather, Hank, to break the code. Together, they discover that coordinates hidden within literary classics like Jules Verne’s ‘The Mysterious Island’ and Jonathan Swift’s ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ point to the exact same location. To reach it, they hire local helicopter pilot Gabato and his sharp-witted daughter Kailani, embarking on a high-stakes expedition into uncharted waters.

After getting sucked into a violent hurricane, the group crashes onto the shores of the legendary Mysterious Island. They encounter a breathtaking world of inverted biology—where small animals are massive and giant beasts are tiny—alongside ancient golden structures and volatile volcanoes. Upon reuniting with Alexander, their relief is short-lived as Hank discovers the island is undergoing rapid tectonic liquefaction, meaning the entire landmass will sink into the ocean within days.

To escape the sinking island, the team must navigate dangerous terrain, dodge colossal predators like giant electric eels, and locate Captain Nemo’s hidden submarine, the Nautilus. With time running out and seismic activity accelerating, Hank, Sean, Alexander, Kailani, and Gabato must execute a perilous escape plan before the island is submerged beneath the sea forever.
