Monkey Man (2024) – Story, Cast, Action & Thriller

Set in the fictional Indian city of Yatana, Monkey Man follows Kid, an anonymous young man who earns a meager living in a brutal underground fight club. Wearing a gorilla mask, he endures bloody beatings night after night from favored fighters for cash. Beneath his passive exterior lies a deep-seated rage fueled by childhood trauma—specifically the horrific destruction of his home village and the brutal murder of his mother, Neela, by the corrupt police chief Rana Singh under the orders of a powerful spiritual guru, Baba Shakti.

Determined to exact retribution, Kid infiltrates the high-end corrupt establishment King’s Club, where the city’s political and religious elite party. Working his way up from a low-level dishwasher to a VIP server, he meticulously plans his assassination of Rana. However, when his initial attempt goes awry, Kid is wounded and forced to flee deep into the city’s underbelly, where he is rescued and nursed back to health by Alpha and her community of Hijras inside a sacred temple.

Finding renewed spiritual purpose and rigorous martial training among the community, Kid embraces the mythical hero Hanuman as his inspiration. Re-energized and transformed, he embarks on an explosive, blood-soaked crusade through the corrupt hierarchy of the city, taking down security forces and corrupt leaders to deliver long-overdue justice for himself and the downtrodden.
