STORYLINE
Set four years after the devastating zombie outbreak depicted in the acclaimed film ‘Train to Busan’, the Korean peninsula has been completely ruined, abandoned by the world, and placed under strict quarantine. Jung-seok, a former military captain who escaped the initial downfall but lost his sister and nephew in the process, lives a bleak, guilt-ridden life as a refugee in Hong Kong. He is approached by Chinese mobsters with an alluring but highly dangerous proposition: return to the locked-down peninsula to retrieve a food truck containing $20 million USD, with a promise of a half-share split.
Jung-seok accepts the mission and sneaks back into the post-apocalyptic wasteland alongside a small team. While they successfully locate the cash-filled truck, their escape plan is violently disrupted by a surprise ambush from Unit 631, a rogue, sadistic military militia that has lost its humanity, as well as hordes of hyper-aggressive, light-sensitive zombies. During the chaotic skirmish, Jung-seok is separated from his team but is rescued by Min-jung and her resilient family, who have miraculously survived in the ruins.
Realizing they must work together to escape the living hellscape, Jung-seok, Min-jung, and her family orchestrate a daring plan to reclaim the truck and reach the extraction point. This leads to a high-octane, Mad Max-style battle of survival, featuring intense car chases, heavy gunfire, and desperate sacrifices as they fight off both the ruthless soldiers of Unit 631 and the relentless undead hordes.
