Phantom Detective

Phantom Detective is a gripping neo-noir action thriller that follows the exploits of Hong Gil-dong, an extraordinarily talented but cold-hearted private investigator who runs an unlicensed detective agency. Possessing an impeccable memory but lacking empathy due to a childhood trauma, Gil-dong succeeds in tracking down almost anyone. However, his ultimate quest is to locate Kim Byeong-deok, the man responsible for his mother’s death decades ago.

When Gil-dong finally locates Byeong-deok’s hideout, he discovers that his nemesis has already been kidnapped by a mysterious and powerful criminal organization known as Gwangeunhui. Instead of his target, Gil-dong finds Byeong-deok’s two young granddaughters, Dong-i and Mal-sun. Reluctantly taking the children along, Gil-dong embarks on a high-stakes pursuit to rescue his target so he can exact his own personal revenge, only to uncover a massive conspiracy that threatens the entire nation.
