Predator: Badlands (2025) – Story, Cast, Action & Sci-Fi

Predator: Badlands (2025) is an upcoming standalone science fiction action feature directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who previously revitalized the franchise with the critically acclaimed Prey (2022). Co-written by Trachtenberg and Patrick Aison, the film expands the iconic Yautja universe into an entirely new thematic and visual direction, moving away from historic settings into a gritty, futuristic wasteland universe where survival demands relentless adaptability.

Starring Elle Fanning in a lead dual role, the narrative follows intricate survival dynamics against lethal alien hunters on a hostile world. Breaking traditional franchise conventions, the storyline focuses deeply on character resilience, high-stakes tactical warfare, and advanced sci-fi worldbuilding. As human endurance collides with the brutal, honor-bound hunting instincts of the Predator species, Badlands delivers an adrenaline-fueled experience filled with ground-breaking visual effects and intense action sequences.
