Ransomed

Set against the tense backdrop of the late 1980s, Ransomed follows Min-jun, an ambitious yet underappreciated diplomat working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. When a long-lost coded radio message reveals that a high-ranking Korean diplomat abducted in war-torn Beirut over twenty months ago is still alive, Min-jun eagerly volunteers for a perilous, off-the-record rescue mission. Motivated by the promise of an official post in the United States, he ventures into Lebanon carrying a massive ransom payload, only to instantly become the prime target of local warlords and ruthless mercenaries.

To survive the deadly streets of Beirut, Min-jun reluctantly forms an uneasy alliance with Pan-su, a crafty, opportunistic local Korean taxi driver who knows the city’s dangerous terrain and underground networks. Despite their constant bickering and initial mistrust, the duo must navigate harrowing gunfights, explosive car chases, and treacherous double-crosses. As political bureaucracy threatens to derail their mission from back home, their tense journey evolves into a gripping race against time to secure the hostage’s freedom and escape the warzone alive.
