STORYLINE
Set during the 13th century Kakatiya dynasty, King Ganapatideva faces severe political instability as he lacks a male heir to secure the throne against ambitious internal rivals and foreign invaders. To preserve the kingdom’s stability, the king and his wise minister Siva Devayya secretly rear the king’s newborn daughter, Rudhramadevi, as a prince named Rudradeva. Raised without knowledge of her true gender identity, Rudradeva undergoes rigorous military training, strategic education, and royal grooming to become a formidable ruler capable of defending Orugallu.
As Rudradeva assumes power, threats escalate from Mahadeva, the aggressive ruler of the neighboring Yadava kingdom, alongside treacherous nobles conspiring within the court. Amidst these challenges, Rudradeva forms a strategic alliance with Gona Ganna Reddy, a Robin Hood-like rebel chieftain who covertly fights to protect Kakatiya interests. Rudradeva also contends with personal complications, including a political marriage to Princess Muktamba and an unspoken bond with Prince Chalukya Veerabhadra, all while keeping the secret safe from dangerous political factions.
When the truth about Rudhramadevi’s gender is eventually exposed to the public and royal court, traditionalist factions spark widespread uproar. Demonstrating unparalleled combat prowess and tactical wisdom on the battlefield, Rudhramadevi personally leads her armies to crush the invading forces of King Mahadeva. By securing total victory, protecting her people, and establishing civic reforms, she silenced her critics and formally ascended the throne as one of ancient India’s premier ruling queens.
