The Tomorrow War (2021) – Story, Cast, Action & Ending

Dan Forester, a former Green Beret turned high school biology teacher, is drafted into a desperate war thirty years in the future. Time travelers from 2051 arrive with a dire warning: humanity is on the brink of extinction due to an invasion by a ruthless alien species known as Whitespikes. To combat this threat, present-day soldiers and civilians are conscripted and sent through a wormhole to bolster the future’s dwindling military forces.

In the future, Dan unites with his adult daughter, Colonel Muri Forester, a brilliant military scientist. Together, they race against time to synthesize a lethal toxin capable of killing the highly resilient female Whitespikes. Although Muri perishes in the final onslaught, Dan successfully transports the toxin back to the present day just as the temporal link collapses, leaving him with the sole means to prevent the apocalypse.

Back in the present, Dan deduces that the Whitespikes did not arrive in 2048 but had been buried under a Siberian glacier for centuries. Recruiting his estranged father, James, and a small team of survivors, Dan travels to Russia to locate the dormant alien vessel. They successfully inject the toxin and destroy the nesting aliens, effectively rewriting history and securing a peaceful future for mankind.
