Underwater (2020) is a gripping science-fiction horror film directed by William Eubank. The story follows a crew of deep-sea researchers, including mechanical engineer Norah Price and Captain Lucien, working at the Kepler 822 drilling station situated seven miles beneath the ocean surface in the Mariana Trench. When a catastrophic earthquake ruptures the facility’s structural integrity, the surviving crew members are forced to make a perilous journey across the pitch-black ocean floor to reach the Roebuck station’s escape pods.

As they navigate the freezing, high-pressure depths in specialized diving suits, they quickly realize that the drilling has awakened a horde of hostile, mysterious aquatic creatures. These predatory organisms hunt the survivors one by one, culminating in the revelation of a colossal, ancient behemoth. Norah must make the ultimate sacrifice to detonate the station’s reactor, destroying the creatures and allowing her remaining crewmates to escape safely to the surface.
